The literary world of Jayne Williams, Slow Fat Triathlete

A new planet enters the blogosphere! Oversized, gaseous, and majestic, not unlike its author, it orbits at theslowfattriathete.blogspot.com. (And if you're the person who picked up the "slowfattriathlete" blogspot spot, it'd be nice if you reliquished it - you haven't posted there in several years.) The gist of this blog is that I'm using my second book, Shape Up with the Slow Fat Triathlete: 50 Ways to Kick Butt on the Field, in the Pool, or at the Gym, No Matter What Your Size or Shape to inspire my Big Fat Fitness Comeback. (Book Excerpts.) I got fat, I got sick, I got overworked, and between all those things, I got very, very out of shape. See the Boo-Boo Kitty Syndrome description at left for more details on that. It was unpleasant.

Even with all these setbacks, I'm still considering myself living proof that you don't have to be young, lean, super-fit or otherwise exceptionally talented to have fun in triathlon and other endurance sports. My first book Slow Fat Triathlete: Pursue Your Athletic Dreams in the Body You Have Now can be found through Da Capo Lifelong Books. Go to your favorite online or local bookseller for a copy.

Got a race report to share? A question about sports bras or wetsuits? Or an offer of a lucrative (or interesting) speaking engagement in an exotic (or mundane) locale? Contact Jayne - jayne at slowfattriathlete dotcom (Apologies in advance - the rather gratifyng volume of email combined with my pesky day job, Boo-boo Kitty Syndrome, and other obligations means that it might take me several months to get back to you. But I will, eventually. If you'd like to add me as a Facebook friend, please include a personal message so I know it's a Slow Fat Triathlete thang and not a random stalker.

Slow Fat Triathlete Technical Apparel! The comfy, wicking Team SFT running shirt is still available and so is the SFT microfleece vest - an excellent workout or lounging garment for the chilly winter months. Download this info sheet/order form and email me your order. Have patience; I am planning to put up a real e-commerce section of this site soon.
